Ebos Secures $217 Million in Capital Raise to Fund Pet Health Acquisition

Apr 11, 2025

Highlights:

  • Ebos Group Limited (NZX: EBO) completes a $217 million institutional placement as part of a broader $270m equity raise.
  • The funds will support its $115 million acquisition of SVS Veterinary Supplies.
  • Retail investors to be offered up to $54 million in a non-underwritten share offer.

Major Institutional Placement Completed

Ebos Group Limited (NZX: EBO), a leading diversified healthcare and animal care company, has successfully completed a fully underwritten placement of new shares, raising approximately NZ$217 million. At the time of writing, this capital raise forms part of a larger $270 million equity raising initiative aimed at bolstering the company's expansion in the veterinary space.

The institutional placement attracted strong support from both new and existing shareholders, underscoring investor confidence in the company’s strategic direction. The offer was priced at a discount to market value, providing participants an incentive to back the firm’s latest acquisition.

SVS Veterinary Supplies Acquisition

Proceeds from the placement will be primarily used to fund Ebos’ acquisition of SVS Veterinary Supplies, a well-established pet medicine distributor, for NZ$115 million. The acquisition is expected to enhance Ebos’ footprint in the veterinary sector and expand its capabilities across Australasia.

The acquisition aligns with Ebos’ growth strategy to strengthen its animal health division, which has shown consistent revenue momentum in recent years.

Retail Offer to Follow

In addition to the institutional placement, Ebos has announced a non-underwritten retail entitlement offer to raise up to NZ$54 million. This allows eligible existing shareholders the opportunity to participate in the capital raising on similar terms.

The company said the equity raising will support long-term value creation and reinforce its position as a market leader in healthcare and animal care services.
