Wellington Airport Revenue Jumps 18.6% Despite Net Loss in H1 FY24

Oct 25, 2024

Wellington International Airport Limited (NZX: WIA) reported a 18.6% increase in total revenue, reaching $90.9 million for the six months ending September 30, 2024, compared to the same period last year. Despite this growth, WIA posted a net loss of $706,000, a significant improvement of 68.5% over the prior period's loss. The increase in revenue was driven primarily by a 33.7% rise in landing and terminal charges, while retail and property income remained relatively stable. WIA also maintained its S&P credit rating of BBB/Stable/A-2, reaffirmed in October 2024. These financial results highlight both operational challenges and strong revenue growth, particularly in its core airport services.
