Synlait Milk CEO Grant Watson Steps Down After Nearly Three Years

Oct 22, 2024

Synlait Milk (NZX: SML) CEO Grant Watson has resigned after almost three years leading the Canterbury-based milk processor. His departure comes at a crucial time for the company, which has been facing competition for milk supply. Watson had initially been reluctant to apply for the role, but was persuaded by Synlait founder John Penno in 2021 to take on the position. Prior to Synlait, Watson was with Taupo-based processor Miraka. His exit marks a significant leadership change as the company navigates market challenges.
