Market Alert: Strong Nuclear Tensions in South Asia Assessing the Fallout on Global Equity Markets

NZ Wine Industry Faces Challenges Amid US Tariff Concerns

Mar 07, 2025

Indevin Group (NZX: IND) and other New Zealand wine producers are navigating uncertainty as potential US tariffs loom, compounding existing inventory challenges. CEO Simon Limmer predicts it may take another year for supply and demand to stabilize.

The industry has struggled with excess stock as international retailers work through inventory built up during the pandemic. Economic pressures have further dampened consumer spending, slowing sales recovery. A smaller 2024 vintage may help ease supply issues, but tariff risks in the US market could create further hurdles.Despite these challenges, exporters remain hopeful, focusing on long-term market stability and demand recovery.
