Low Self-Development Among Advisers Despite Slight Improvement

Sep 11, 2024

The AIA Wellbeing Survey of Financial Advisers for 2023 revealed only 4.03% of advisers engaged in self-development, a slight increase from 2021. AIA NZ's Anna Schubert emphasized the importance of prioritizing personal growth, which isn’t just about professional qualifications but involves making time for oneself. The study linked self-development with better resilience and client interactions. Schubert encouraged advisers to improve boundary strength, adapt their schedules, and prioritize self-care to improve mental and physical well-being. Techniques like breathing exercises, proper hydration, and reframing self-development goals were suggested to boost energy and focus.
