Market Alert: Strong Nuclear Tensions in South Asia Assessing the Fallout on Global Equity Markets
New Zealanders are increasingly expecting financial advisers to be knowledgeable about ethical investments, according to a survey by the Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA) and Mindful Money. New Talisman Gold Mines Limited (NZX: NTL) reported that 60% of Kiwis over 18 now expect advisers to be well-versed in ethical options, up 4% from last year. Additionally, 56% expect advisers to be experts on profitable financial choices, and 77% want their KiwiSaver and other investments to be managed ethically.
The survey revealed that interest in ethical investing is higher among women, Millennials, Gen Z, and those with university degrees. Furthermore, 57% of respondents would switch providers if their investments didn’t align with their values. Dean Hegarty, RIAA co-CEO, emphasized the importance for advisers to prepare for the increasing demand for sustainable products, especially with the upcoming intergenerational wealth transfer.
